How to track a crypto transaction with a TXID

To track a crypto transfer, you need two details: the network and the transaction hash. The hash may be labeled transaction ID, TXID, tx hash, or transaction signature on Solana. It identifies one on-chain transaction.

A TXID is not the same as an exchange withdrawal ID or a LightSwap order ID. If a swap or payout is delayed, first find the on-chain TXID and then check it in the explorer for the network that carried the funds.

1. Find the TXID and network

Open the wallet or service that sent the funds and look in its activity or withdrawal history. Common labels include:

• Transaction ID or TXID;
• Transaction hash or tx hash;
• View on explorer;
• Transaction details.

An exchange may show only an internal withdrawal record while it processes the request. The TXID usually appears after the exchange broadcasts the transaction.

Record the exact network as well. A token symbol is not enough: USDT, for example, can travel on Ethereum, Tron, Solana, BNB Smart Chain, and other networks.

2. Open the correct block explorer

A block explorer is a read-only search tool for public blockchain data. Open the explorer for the network you recorded and paste the TXID into its search field.

Use a mainnet explorer unless you intentionally sent testnet funds. If the explorer cannot find the TXID, re-copy it and confirm the network with the sender.

Privacy-focused networks work differently. For Monero, public data is limited, so use the transfer details in the sending wallet or exchange. Never share a seed phrase, private key, or private view key to track a transfer.

3. Check the transaction details

Confirm these fields before deciding what happened:

• Status: pending, confirmed, finalized, success, or failed;
• Recipient: the destination address matches the one you intended to use;
• Asset and amount: the correct coin or token was transferred;
• Confirmations or finality: the network has accepted the transaction;
• Timestamp: the time matches your transfer.

On EVM networks and Tron, a token amount can appear under Token Transfers or TRC20 Transfers while the native Value field shows zero. If an address is unfamiliar, compare it carefully with the wallet address you intended to use.

What the status means

If the explorer shows a successful transfer to the wrong address or network, confirmation does not reverse it. Follow the wrong-network transfer checks before taking further action.

If the transfer is confirmed but funds are missing

Check that the recipient address, network, token contract, and amount all match your intended transfer. Refresh the wallet, switch to the correct network, and add the token contract if the wallet does not list it automatically.

For an exchange or custodial wallet, check how many confirmations it requires. If the threshold has passed, contact that service and provide the TXID, network, asset, amount, and deposit address.

Track a LightSwap deposit or payout

One LightSwap order can have two different on-chain transactions:

• the deposit TXID, found in the wallet or exchange from which you sent funds;
• the payout TXID, shown on the LightSwap status page with Open in explorer after the payout is sent.

The LightSwap order ID identifies the swap, not a blockchain transaction. When contacting support, provide the order ID, network, and the relevant deposit or payout TXID.

Safety checks

• Tracking a transaction never requires connecting your wallet or signing a message.
• Never enter a seed phrase or private key into an explorer or support form.
• Open explorer domains directly and avoid sponsored links or accounts claiming they can reverse a confirmed transaction.
